Let’s face it; today repairing your vehicle is the last thing you want to spend money. However when faced with the alternative of a costly new car not, the repair option starts to look better. Now there is an option that allows you to save quite a bit on fixing your car. This option has been around quite awhile but not frequently used until recently. That option is using quality used parts for those repairs. Parts purchased new from a dealership cost a fortune so choosing to go with used parts just makes good sense. In addition, auto recyclers are changing the way they do business so you can feel assured that parts purchased from a reputable salvage yard are inspected and normally come with a warranty.
Cars come to auto recyclers in several ways. One of these is that individual vehicle owners have decided that the automobile is not worth the money it would take to fix it. A salvage yard is contacted and then they come and tow the unwanted vehicle way. The former owner makes some money and the salvage yard now has a vehicle that they can strip for the working parts. Another way they acquire vehicles is a salvage auction. When a car is damaged in a collision and the insurance company decides that the car is damaged beyond the cars value, the car is totaled and the owner is paid for the car. The insurance company then takes possession of the vehicle. The insurance company, in order to recover some of their investment, then sells the car at the salvage auction.
