When purchasing a car, one of the most natural things is to test for functionality as well as performance. To know whether a car has the potential for purchase, it is important to have certain parameters to look out for. The same case applies for classic vehicles. It may be assumed that since it is a vintage car, the owner has maintained it in mint condition. This may not necessarily be the case; therefore, an assessment of the car should precede any purchase.

The first and foremost thing before purchase is to find out whether the car is legally owned and has all the corresponding paperwork. The papers should be original and without any sign of alterations. The VIN that is on the car should adequately match the one on the paperwork. If the vehicle is said to have undergone some alteration or restoration, it may be prudent to know what work was done and if possible go through pictures taken before and after the restoration. The service history should be known as well as how often the car undergoes maintenance. The car engine is what propels it; therefore, its state should be thoroughly scrutinized. The car should be started and the engine sound monitored for any unnatural sounds especially when it is revved severally. The smoke emission level also tells a lot about the state of the engine and should be checked particularly when the engine gets heated up. Continue reading ‘Buying a Classic? Don't Forget to Inspect!’ »

Vehicles that are powered by electricity have been around for a very long time. What most people don’t know is that in the early 1900s there were more vehicles powered by electricity than there were vehicles powered by gasoline.

Gasoline back in the early 1900s was extremely pricey. Also, it was very difficult to start a gasoline engine. You had to turn and turn and turn a crank in the front of the car in order to get the engine to start. They didn’t have the technology where you could just turn a key like we do today. Another thing is that vehicles powered by gasoline were extremely noisy and were very smokey. Technology for good mufflers didn’t exist so most cars were very, very loud. This is why electric vehicles were such a big hit. They were quiet and easier to start. At one point, there were over 50,000 electric vehicles out on the streets of the United States. Man and Vans is a fantastic company. Not only is it family run, lending it a personal friendly feel, it’s level of customer care is also top notch. One of the most striking things about the service it offers, is that there is no flat rate nor single type of service offered. In fact the company itself states that it is virtually impossible to offer its customers a quote online or even via the phone, because they would need to assess the situation on a face to face basis. This may seem like a hassle to some people, but really it’s what moves the company from the realms of the good to the very good, or great.

This adaptable service, means that you, the customer get the very best out of your removal. You will have the vehicles you need plus the packaging materials to ensure that your move is as swift and smooth as it could possibly be. The company puts the effort in, so you should too.
If you think that all this comes at a more expensive cost, you’ll be very pleasantly surprised. Continue reading ‘What Makes Man and Vans a quality service’ »
