In this World of modern day technology, nothing helps a child grow up and learn responsibility more at a young age than owning their own all-terrain vehicle, or ATV. Enjoying the outdoors with a true sense of freedom, your child will love the excitement his ATV provides. They learn safe driving practices, safe handling of their ATV and the proper use of equipment. They’ll learn safe driving speeds and the use of safety gloves and helmets and safe eye wear while riding. All the while they’re enjoying the outdoors and the splendor nature has to provide!
Kids quads are a great way to get your children outdoors and away from the video games for some nice outdoor fun, fresh air and exercise too! The advent of the toy hauler has made it easy to take your toys and leave home. Remember that these vehicles may be ridden only on public land or places where they are authorized. Nearly all states oblige users to hold a particular kind of license, be minimum age, and use safety paraphernalia, Your vehicle must be registered, and drivers must abide by local speed and noise restrictions. Look up the requirements, and be informed. Continue reading ‘Finding Friends in Your Toy Hauler’ »

Dune buggies are fun. Thousands of driving enthusiasts will testify to how much fun they are. Whether you call the vehicle a dune buggy or an off road go cart, the premise is the same. It’s an open chassis powered by an engine designed to power through rough terrain, especially the ups and downs of hills, sandy or otherwise.
Some folks prefer the sleek ride of an ATV (All Terrain Vehicle). Honda, Polaris, Yamaha and others make creditable ATVs that can be as mild mannered (250 cc) or as muscled-up (650 cc and more) as you like. They all tend to have seats that the driver sits on much like a motorcycle whereas dune buggies are more like open chassis mini cars with the driver generally sitting in the middle of the seat, very close to the ground, unless it is a two-seater. Dune buggies can be made from kits, dune buggie plans modified from small cars (especially Volkswagen Beetles), and bought outright. Continue reading ‘Dune Buggies Are Family Fun’ »

Style is part of the motorcycle equation for every rider. It comes up every time you buy a new bike or jacket, accessorize, study your reflection in a plate glass window, and when you pull into a crowd that scrutinizes every move you make. All this makes you think about the style you have or wish to create.
Maybe you just want to look cool. But you can get philosophical about it and make your style exhibit you – if you know who you are. What image do you want to project as a biker? What do you want to tell people about you? Style development begins with the bike you choose to ride. Most bikes will fall into one of the styles below, and your style will emerge from there. The bike and the style it inspires go together. You can change your style too. Cross over to another bike. But that can get costly. No one knows who exactly built the first choppers, but it is generally agreed upon that they were built by soldiers returning home from WWII. Soldiers who had ridden bikes in Europe found that the Harleys being produced in the US were slow and bulky, something that is still true today. In an effort to lighten these bikes up the riders started to remove unnecessary parts and “bob” the fenders. Had the European motorcycles been readily available in America I believe that these bikers might have abandoned Harley right then and we would have a completely different biker scene than what we have today.
These early modified bikes were called Bobbers and the term Choppers actually didn’t get popular until the sixties and early seventies. Most sources reference the movie Easy Rider as the start of the cultural phenomena, but national news about the antics of the Hells Angels certainly had the image of the biker outlaw already fixed in the public’s eye, a much badder version than we saw in the movie The Wild One from 1953. With the economy encountering an enormous slow down, some companies are holding onto their assets and others are throwing away their extras and making their businesses more efficient. It means that right now is the best time to purchase used goods, if you have money. Additionally, buying a used van is also one of a good idea, since there are a lot of used vans that are not all second-hand or old.
The price of used van is a bit more speculative than a new van. You may be expected to pay a little more when you are buying a used van with steering, power windows, air conditioning and a very low mileage. The consumption of gas is also very essential, and a used van with a lesser gas consumption may also cost a bit more. The price of the used vans is also depending on wear and tear and vehicle repair history. Continue reading ‘Tips for buying used vans’ »
