There is nothing worse than having to get stuck driving in bad weather. A few weeks ago, I found myself out during rush hour driving in what I can only describe as a torrential downpour of rain. It was the kind of rain where the rain is coming down so hard that it actually looks as if it is raining from the ground up. Additionally, it was raining so hard that even on my fastest setting, my windshield wipers simply could not keep up with the downpour.
To top it off, the thing that makes driving in bad weather so incredibly hazardous and dangerous are other drivers. Too often, you’ll come across someone who doesn’t have their lights on because a) they don’t realize that when it is raining hard and/or you have your windshield wipers on, you are supposed to have your headlights on or b) They take the opportunity to start speeding or start following other people too closely.
When will people realize that, by law, you are supposed to turn your headlights on whenever you have your windshield wipers on? I was on the road as recently as last night, after the sun had already set (which means that you should already have your headlights on). However, I went to change lanes and quickly changed my mind because doing so would have meant that I would have either crashed into the person next to me or run them off the road. The problem? I didn’t see them. In fact, their black car blended perfectly into the night and the rain that was pouring down because they did not have their headlights on. I was furious. The only way that I managed to see them was because there was a slight glare coming off of the hood of their car when one of the passing lamp posts illuminated their vehicle for a brief second. If you have spent any time using an agricultural or industrial track. You know the importance of a good quality tractor seat. Tractor seats have evolved tremendously over the last few decades even the early steel seats with holes in them were relatively comfortable since they were situated on either coil springs or leaf spring to absorb some of the shock. Now days though tractor seats are very high tech.
There are basic tractor seats that are rigid and simply have some foam with vinyl over it, all the way up to air ride high-tech memory foam seats. The choice you make in a tractor seat depends much on what you want how much time you spend in that seat, your physical limitations and of course the amount of money that you wish to spend. Many car owners want their car to stand out from others. Here body kits do lay an important role. If you have never heard about body kits before, here is a low down on them before you go out and purchase one.
A body kit is the greatest and cheapest method of doing a total external alteration of a car. These kits normally consist of a front bumper, 2 side skirts, and a rear bumper. Every part of the kit is planned to compliment the other parts and work together as a unit to give a customized appearance to the car. Many car owners find it thrilling and exhilarating to mix and match these bumpers and side skirts instead of just selecting one entire set (like a full Bomex body-kit) Continue reading ‘What is a Body Kit?’ »

After your house, your car is probably your most expensive asset. More than that, it is a status symbol. It tells the world what your personality is, and quite frankly, how much car you can afford. This article will examine how to find a cheap new car.
The first way to find a cheap new car is to look for rebates and cash back offers. Because the economy is in a slump and is hitting the car industry harder than most others, many manufacturers are offering incentives to buy their cars. Some of the best deals right now on new cars include a $13,000 cash back on the Mercedes-Benz CLK Class, $5000 off a Nissan Titan, and $7500 off the BMW Z4.
Another way to buy a cheap new car is to look for a model from last year. As dealers roll out the 2010 line, they still have 2009 models in the showroom. They are extra motivated to move these and will often offer great deals on them. Continue reading ‘A Cheap New Car is Possible – Here's How’ »

Now a days, painting chrome is being used as a ride pimper and it has, and is gaining popularity, There has been some innovation in painting chrome as until recently the only way to get that famous shine which is specific to chrome paints was to chrome plate the vehicle. If you are new to chrome paint, it would simply be defined as the paint applied to get a shiny and mirror like finish. I would like to be frank here and I have to confess that personally I am not fond of painting chrome over the car. As I feel that the chromed car seems to be bedazzled extra ordinarily and it seems to appear that whole car has been wrapped in an aluminum foil. Any way this is only my opinion and majority of the car enthusiasts seems to enjoy and adore a chrome car so I would be rather commercial here and will tell you some tips for custom chrome paint as well as chrome paint trim. The biggest advantage of chrome car paint is that it provides with perfect base coat and any other art work can be applied by painting over chrome and the chrome paint acts as a high light thus really pimping the car.
Custom chrome car paint is best used in motor sports car when the car needs some advertisement painted all over it. So the chrome is used as a base paint to give prominence to over all advertisement painting. Typical process of applying car chrome paints is that first a dark base coat is used as a primer then a chrome spray paint is sprayed over it. However the base coat is not completely covered. Finally a clear coat is applied. Usually a tint or pigment is added to to give chrome a color since chromes are originally shiny, silver finishing. The appropriate blend of chrome and paint is necessary as applying too thin coat of chrome spray paint will give a dull metallic look which obviously kills the purpose of applying a chrome to your car. A lambda sensor also known as an Oxygen sensor is a device that is used to evaluate the amount of oxygen or (O2) in whatever liquid is being evaluated, it is also used to measure the level of oxygen in gas. In the latter part of the 1960s the oxygen sensor was developed by Robert Bosch GmbH which is a Germany technology based company that supplies automobile mechanisms. The development was supervised by Dr. Gunter Bauman.
The original sensing component is made with a white crystalline oxide of zirconium material or Zirconia that is made into a thimble shaped coat on both sides. It came in both heated and unheated types with a light coating of platinum.
In 1998 the planar type o2 sensor was introduced. These lessened the use of the original ceramic sensing component. This is also when the heater was integrated and thus producing a more efficient and competent o2 sensor. Internal combustion engines in vehicles are engines that burns fuel to create mechanical energy, in these engines there needs to be a perfect balance of fuel and oxygen. This is where the use of oxygen sensors is most common. Continue reading ‘What is an Oxygen Sensor?’ »

Oxygen sensors that are used in the automotive field are generally referred to as the o2 sensor. These sensors are used in the aid of fuel injected engines where fuel is mixed with air and also to assist with emission reduction to reduce the amount of pollution that an automobile can emit.
AFR which is the abbreviated name for Air-Fuel-Ratio is the ratio representation of air and fuel during incineration in a vehicle. The oxygen sensors are used for the duration of this process to determine whether the ratio is considered rich or lean. The oxygen sensors however does not give the ratio on its own as the sensor cannot be placed directly in the exhaust stream, therefore they are unable to provide a concise measurement of the fuel or the air flowing into the engine. The data that is gathered from the oxygen sensor is usually combined with data supplied from other sources and can then be used to determine the AFR. If you decide to lease a car, your monthly payments will be about 60 percent of what you would have been paying if you had bought it straight out. And, this gives you an opportunity to get a new car every three years. If you are going the lease route, consider taking the lease off someone else’s hands – they’ll usually chip in on the monthly payments.
Next, consider buying a new car that is last year’s model. Every September, the manufacturers roll out the new year’s model. But the dealers still have plenty of the old ones left to sell and they will be grateful if you would take them off their hands. From time to time you will even find a two year old cheap car that is still new.
Arm yourself with the facts. If you know how low the dealer can go, you will have an edge in the negotiations. Remember that the salesman has a bottom line that he cannot go below. Continue reading ‘New Cheap Car Buyer's Guide’ »
