There are few auto racing legends that are aptly titled for Halloweeen. However, in Ponoco, a developing Nissan GTP would earn the moniker: California Coffin. It all started in 1985, where Tony a2z Adamowicz had a rear suspension failure in an experimental version of the ZX Turbo. a2z came off the banking and was able to limp to the pit area without causing a lot of damage to the Nissan GTP. Later, he told me that every time he never knew which item was going to break next on the car. Brian Redman mentioned that further development of the machine might be canned. The machine’s primary sponsor was “California Cooler”, but the monster had developed a reputation as the “California Coffin”.
a2z Tony was a brave driver in the early years of engineering of this Nissan. They said the same things regarding the early designs of the famous Porsche 917K in the pre 70′s. Frightning, but both chassis required time to become the championship cars they became. Tony Adamowicz regretted not being there to benefit from all of his dangerous testing and development of the Nissan. Politics prevented him from harvesting the fruits of his development as a racer of this promising racing machine, nicknamed the California Coffin. Continue reading ‘The Nissan GTP’ »

For any car owner, it is a matter of great pride to drive a car that makes heads turn. And most of us would do anything to make our cars look attractive enough so as to ensure that. Thankfully, achieving it is not even difficult these days with the availability of a wide range of car accessories. One such accessory is the hubcap, which may be attached to the wheelers of a car (to its wheels). It adds to the appearance of your car, and in fact in many cases may also help in enhancing the performance of the vehicle.
Hubcaps vary greatly in price, and much depends on the quality of the hubcap as well as its design and size. One may opt for a used hubcap, or the so called “factory used hubcap”, for covering the wheels of their vehicles. They may be available at great discounts, especially at the local shops for automotive parts. Therefore, one may conclude that used hubcaps are a great way to ensure that you get the best quality hubcaps at the most reasonable prices. This is especially of a great advantage, since better the quality of the hubcap, the lesser are the chances of having the hubcap falling out in the middle of the road. Though he broke with family tradition, Ettore did not leave his love of fine designs behind. Continue reading ‘Classic Profile: The Bugatti’ »

Today, police autos help in patrols, traffic stops, and other activities in every town. They were developed soon afterwards the advent of cars. Before that time, police would patrol their jurisdiction on horseback, or even on foot.
the very first police automobile is alleged to date to 1899, when an electric automobile patrolled the streets of Akron, Ohio. It might only go 16 miles per hour, and had to be recharged every thirty miles, but it was regarded as a major development in the history of police forces. Police officers actually used bikes far before they used patrol cars, in part because autos were more expensive. The switch to cars was motivated essentially by the proven fact that law breakers were using cars ; chasing a car on foot or on horseback became unrealistic.
