Coming Soon – The Volkswagen Amarok
Volkswagen has finally broken into the UTE market, and workmen, tradies and devoted pick-up drivers are eagerly anticipating the release of the VW Amarok in Australia later this year.
The first one-tonne class pick-up to be developed in Germany, the Amarok is set to be a leader in the UTE trade on interior space and comfort, fuel efficiency and safety features. Add in the refinement expected from a Volkswagen vehicle and the Amarok is likely to give other Australian workhorse UTEs a run for their money.
Volkswagen Amarok – What can drivers expect?
Layout – The Volkswagen Amarok will initially be launched in a four door double-cab layout, with a single cab design to follow. The interior space is expected to outclass other UTEs, with full seating for five people, spacious headroom and leather upholstery.
Staying Safe on a 125cc Scooter Or 50cc Moped
If you are looking for a cheap way to commute and get into work or school then it is hard to beat a small motorbike or scooter. Small bikes such as a 125cc scooter or 50cc moped do not cost very much to buy. They are cheap to insure and they use very little gasoline. Even better is that they are easy to park because they do not take up very much space. Often you can just squeeze them in to a small spot near home or in the city.
There are, however, a couple of things that you should keep in mind when considering using a scooter for your daily travelling.
The first thing you have to keep in mind is that motorcycles and mopeds do not provide nearly the same level of safety as cars do. This is for several obvious reasons. One is that you are only riding on two wheels instead of four. While it is very difficult to get a car to roll over, falling off a motorcycle is unfortunately rather easy to do if you hit a slippery patch of road while taking a corner.

Every Biker Has a Style (Even If He Doesn't Know It)
Style is part of the motorcycle equation for every rider. It comes up every time you buy a new bike or jacket, accessorize, study your reflection in a plate glass window, and when you pull into a crowd that scrutinizes every move you make. All this makes you think about the style you have or wish to create.
Maybe you just want to look cool. But you can get philosophical about it and make your style exhibit you – if you know who you are. What image do you want to project as a biker? What do you want to tell people about you? Style development begins with the bike you choose to ride. Most bikes will fall into one of the styles below, and your style will emerge from there. The bike and the style it inspires go together. You can change your style too. Cross over to another bike. But that can get costly. Read more
History Of Choppers As I See It
No one knows who exactly built the first choppers, but it is generally agreed upon that they were built by soldiers returning home from WWII. Soldiers who had ridden bikes in Europe found that the Harleys being produced in the US were slow and bulky, something that is still true today. In an effort to lighten these bikes up the riders started to remove unnecessary parts and “bob” the fenders. Had the European motorcycles been readily available in America I believe that these bikers might have abandoned Harley right then and we would have a completely different biker scene than what we have today.
These early modified bikes were called Bobbers and the term Choppers actually didn’t get popular until the sixties and early seventies. Most sources reference the movie Easy Rider as the start of the cultural phenomena, but national news about the antics of the Hells Angels certainly had the image of the biker outlaw already fixed in the public’s eye, a much badder version than we saw in the movie The Wild One from 1953. Important Features That You Should Consider In A Leather Motorcycle Jacket
If you’ve been thinking about buying a new leather motorcycle jacket, you should make sure that you’ve become familiar with the important properties of the jacket before deciding which one you want to buy for yourself. There are a number of important features of motorcycle jackets and this article will help you become familiar with a few of them so you at least have a good idea of where to start when purchasing one.
Perhaps the single most important factor that you’ll want to take into consideration is the leather that the jacket is made of. It is one of the more important properties because it is what will provide protection in the event of a crash or fall. You’ll want to make sure that the leather of the jacket is at least 1.2mm thick. This thickness will help provide more protection than thinner leather jackets. Most jackets are made of cowhide leather or buffalo leather, which are some of the best quality leather materials around. Because leather is tough and durable, it can hold up if it is scraped along a road, which will help protect you in turn. Read more
The Often Overlooked Important Leather Motorcycle Gear
When riding a motorcycle, it’s important that you have all of the important safety gear like motorcycle jackets and motorcycle helmets. This gear is needed in order to be able to protect yourself fully in the event of a crash. This should be your first priority when getting ready for any motorcycle ride, but often times some of the more important pieces of leather gear are overlooked and disregarded. Some of those important leather gear items include leather chaps, and leather motorcycle boots, and gloves.
One of the more important pieces of gear that any motorcycle rider could have are leather boots, and often times many riders fail to take advantage of this great piece of equipment and settle for less protective footwear like tennis shoes or even sandals. It’s amazing that anyone would even consider wearing sandals on a motorcycle given the fact that there are so many parts on the motorcycle that become extremely hot when in operation. The risk for getting burned is very high. Not only that, but sandals leave you exposed to any flying dirt or debris that could strike you while riding. The best way to protect your feet is with a good pair of motorcycle boots. You’ll want to wear boots that will completely cover your ankle, which will provide you with the most protection possible.
