The Indian subsidy of Ford Motors has launched a new variant of the Ford Ikon. The new Ford Ikon is christened as the Ford Ikon iKool.
The new Ford iKool is already available in the showrooms across the country. The new car will cost 4.82 Lakh for the petrol version (Ex Showroom, New Delhi) and the diesel version comes at a price of 5.42 Lakh (Ex Showroom, New Delhi).
The petrol version of the Ikon iKool will be powered by a ROCAM 1.3L petrol engines that will confer ‘class leading’ fuel efficiency. The diesel version of the new Ford is driven by a 1.4L DuraTorq TDCi In-line 4 engine. Both the engines can churns out a powerful 67 bhp of horsepower. In both the versions, the engine is mated with a 5-speed manual transmission. The gear shifting is simply superb and leaves no room for complaints.
The Ikon iKool is an economical car which is very exciting to drive. The Ford Ikon iKool is designed with great flair that captivates everyone. Ford India has claimed that the Ford Ikon has delivered a fuel efficiency of 28.54 km/l and a low running cost of Rs.1.39 per km in a 52-day ‘Ikon Cross Country Drive.’
Ford India will be exporting cars in huge volumes from Chennai for the first time since its establishment ten year ago. Currently, it has exported only 158 units to Durban, but has plans to export its future models including the upcoming small car. The company might export its models to various Asia-Pacific countries and African countries by 2010.
