Get the Most From Your Gas Tank!

• Go easy on the gas when accelerating. No need to go stoplight racing just to see who gets to use their brakes first. Acceleration uses significant amounts of gas.
• Enable overdrive. If you drive an automatic, make sure overdrive is enabled. Disabling it locks out your highway gear which is the most fuel efficient
• Use the cruise control when possible. Your car is capable of keeping itself at a set speed much better than you can.
• Keep the windows up and air conditioner off. Use the vent instead. Save the AC for the hottest of hot days.
• Master your inertia. The light up ahead turned red? Take your foot off the gas and coast. Gently apply your brakes and gradually slow down. Try to time it so you get back on the gas as the light turns green.
• Keep your tires properly inflated and stay current on maintenance. Nothing like a busted oxygen sensor to put your fuel economy in the tank!
