ased Overland Automotive in 1908. It was not right up until 4 a long time later when the company was officially renamed to Willys-Overland Motor Corporation. It developed many Touring, Sedan, Roadster and Coach products before it officially started developing Jeeps. Prior to the production of jeeps, the firm has developed four base models and automobile lines. It is these that are the Willys, Aero-Willys, Willys-Overland as well as the Overland. Once they’ve begun manufacturing and have presented Willys Jeeps in 1941, this was the time that they have instantly gained far more popularity. They were definitely no longer referred to as a company that produced automobiles; they were then recognized to create great good quality jeeps that may survive the perils and stresses of transportation in the course of the war.
The last Willys automobile was manufactured in 1955. Even previous to that year, the company has previously been taken over by Kaiser Motors. It was not until 1963 when the name Willys was officially dropped from all productions. Nowadays, you can still be able to come across base products or those that were definitely modeled after the original Willys jeeps.

The Jeep brand has a lofty and historic heritage, one that was came to life during the darkest hours of World War II. At that time, the US military needed a vehicle which could move its way through the French countryside, German bogs and far eastern paddy fields, thus the Jeep was born.
