The best time to inspect your motorcycle for any mechanical problems is actually right after a ride not before. To be sure that your motorcycle is ready for your next trip, the most convenient time to do your motorcycle maintenance regimen is immediately after your last ride. This will give you enough time to make repairs if you find any discrepancies. For example, if you discovered a punctured tire’s sidewall on a Monday night after you ride, you can get it repaired on Tuesday and be ready for your trip on Wednesday. If you find a loose drain plug or something even more major suddenly on Wednesday morning, you are most likely to postpone your trip that day and have your bike repaired instead. Make sure not to spoil your next ride by inspecting your motorcycle beforehand.
The simplest way to inspect your motorcycle is to give it the old rub-a-dub. You can get up close and personal with your motorcycle that way. Post ride cleaning accomplishes two things. One, you maintain the motorcycle’s finish by keeping grimes and dirt at bay. Two, you may uncover a problem, although not anything major but would soon become one ,if the rider does not routinely clean his motorcycle.
