Dubai’s car market is now on the right track, if judged by the results of the Dubai Auto Show that concluded here recently. A number of manufacturers chose to unveil their models at the show which was well attended, and got a lot of attention from both wealthy buyers and car enthusiasts.
This is seen in stark contrast to the time when expatriates leaving Dubai chose to abandon their cars at the city’s airport with keys and apology notes in them. Dubai was affected by the global recession which hit the Gulf region in late 2008, decimating the emirate’s real estate and construction sectors and sending thousands of expatriates and migrant workers back home at short notice. Some were even informed that they were being let go while on vacation back home. Many people have bad recollections about the experience and will probably not return to Dubai anytime soon.

While shopping around for a body kit, remember there are many brands and manufacturers in the market. So how can you choose the best brand of bodykit? For that, you have to consider many factors like the type of kit, its price and materials used in making the kit.
There are many styles available in the body-kit market. You can get a race inspired one that will be closer to the ground, offering more aerodynamics. Few of these kits will incorporate of the bumpers and side skirts. Some others, called wide body kits have still broader fender replacements too. They are slightly jazzier and at times contain inbuilt diffusers and canards to produce down force and monitor the air movement below the car. There are more luxury body-kits, designed to improve the look of your stock ride. Their design includes mesh grills and clean lines. The Extreme Dimensions couture with executive is a good example.
Your budget can help in narrowing down your search to some extent. If you don’t have a lot of money to spend, simply opt for bumper replacement to get your money’s worth. Full body kits can cost from about $500 and over. The material desired can have a big impact on your options too. Fiberglass is the most economical and fiberglass body-kits are sold by leading brands like AIT Racing, VIS Racing, Buddy Club and Mimo USA. Urethane is costlier but durable. Urethane body kits from Wings West are one of the best. Carbon Fiber is a very light weight substance and substituting many body parts with carbon fiber will greatly improve speed times. VIS Racing, Seibon and Carbon Creations are the leading brands in carbon fiber bodykits and frills. Continue reading ‘Various Body Kit Brands’ »

Shopping around for a new vehicle can be exciting and frustrating in equal measure – there is plenty of choice and there is always the chance to grab a bargain. But should you go for a used car or a new car?
Buying brand new has its advantages – because it is hot off the production line the vehicle is potentially much less likely to break down in the short-term and be a smooth and comforting ride. You’re also likely to get the latest spec and version of the vehicle.
It may also be possible to get a brand new bargain as towards the end of the year some vehicle makers may bring in newer models which may cut the price of other new cars already on the market.
If you don’t fancy stumping up a considerable price for a car which is brand new, you may want to opt for nearly new. The depreciation rate of brand new vehicles is legendary, and you may be able to get a vehicle which is only around 12 months old with around 10,000 miles on clock which is significantly cheaper than if you bought the car brand new. The European Aftermarket Report
This report discusses the pressures that are coming to bear, the reactions of OEMs, suppliers and distributors, and the strategies that companies are pursuing to succeed to survive the global economic crisis now, and in the long term. ( http://www.bharatbook.com/detail.asp?id=127266&rt=The-European-Aftermarket-Report.html )
Background to this Research
Demand for aftermarket products is mainly driven by the quality of OE parts, the number of vehicles in operation, the average age of the vehicle parc, vehicle usage and the average useful life of vehicle parts. Although there are more vehicles on the road than ever before, the aftermarket has experienced weakness due to improved longevity of OE parts and increases in average service lives of automotive parts as a result of technological innovation and higher quality.
While there is some opportunity for aftermarket replacements to grow as the average age of the vehicles on the road increases, suppliers are being required more and more to deliver innovative aftermarket products that upgrade the performance or safety of a vehicle’s original components to drive aftermarket demand.

Going back to the 70′s and 80′s, if you had a family, most case scenario, you had a station wagon. Then along came the development of the SUV, a truck body on a car chassis. The SUV was a necessity for every household, even eclipsing the popularity of the minivan which was known as the family vehicle of the 90′s. The craze didn’t stop there though; larger and larger SUV’s were developed and finally came the mega-size SUV. This was like a mini-van, in that it could almost hold an entire soccer team. Along with the regular SUV’s, these mega-sized SUV’s were getting on average 9-12 miles per gallon, but they were being compensated for the low gas mileage by increasing the size of the gas tank to 14 – 16 gallons.
Shortly after the millennium shift, gas began rising at a steady pace. Every time we went to the pump the price went up a few more cents. Everyone complained, but they kept buying the SUV’s for the “size and comfort”, but as soon as the prices hit $2:50/gal. and higher, SUV consumers began to doubt their vehicles worth.
